About Nina Nina has been interested in fashion since she was 12 years old, when her parents bought her a sewing machine as a Bat Mitzvah gift. She began taking sewing classes at Sew Great in West Nyack, NY every Tuesday after school while her friends were at cheerleading practice. She continued until she graduated from high school and went on to study art at Alfred University. By the end of her studies there, she was making soft sculpture hats.

These days, when Nina is not designing handbags, she is making art and teaching high school art in Massachusetts. Cocodette is defined as a person who is obsessed with fashion. Nina is a pure cocodette, so you can trust her taste in style. In 2000 she began making handbags for her friends, who started buying them for their friends, and then for their friends' friends. Before she knew it, everyone had to have one.
